Just added the first LP by Rafeah Buang with Polygram Records in 1980 under the Philips label. "Don Juan II" produced and arranged by Ooi Eow Jin with radio hits "Kalau Rindu", "Ya Ilahi Rabbi" and the discofied version of her 1967 a-go-go hit "Sinar Hidupku".
Just added a 10-inch LP from 1959 by Rokiah (Rokiah Wandah) - "Tanda Kenangan (Memento)" containing famous duets "Tetapkan Iman" and "Budi Bahasa" with Abdullah Chik as well as "Pemuda Pemudi" with R. Azmi.
Just added a 1970 EP by Ismail Haron "Kehilangan Chinta" - his first solo effort although the song "Tunggulah Puan" (Keep On Runnin') from his 1968 EP with the Guys was also included in this release. Other than the title song, which is a rendition of "Without Love (There Is Nothing)", other renditions are "Kenanga" (It's Not Unusual) and "Bawakan Ibuku Di Mimpiku" (I Can't Stop Loving You).
Just added another 1967 record from the "blue label" series of EP by Radio Malaysia. "Lagu2 Pop"(RMEP-10). Vocals by Various Artists namely Fazidah Joned, Saloma, Abdullah Chik and Ahmad Kamal Ariffin.
Just added an OST LP by Emillia Contessa, Broery Marantika, Benyamin S. and Favourite's Group "Akhir Sebuah Impian" from 1973. Almost 100% evergreen songs written mostly by A. Riyanto. Free streaming sponsored by Maznah Hassan from Singapore. Click the donation box to sponsor an album.
Just added a 1986 self-titled duet LP by A. Romzi & Suhaime Roa. This is A. Romzi's triumphant comeback album (his last was in the early 70's with S. Roha). This album came about after a duet with Ramli Sarip in the hit single "Bukan Kerana Nama" earlier in the same year. It made total sense that this album was also arranged and produced by Ramli Sarip.
Just added a 1969 EP by Ismai Haron & The Guys "Sudi-Sudi Kah Dikau" (Gimme Gimme Good Lovin'). Ismail Haron's last group album.
Just added an EP by Various Artists from a series of "Lagu2 Pop" (Pop Songs) produced and recorded by Radio Malaysia in the 60's and 70's. Mostly used for their internal radio spin, these series of EPs (and later on, LPs) are now highly sought after by vinyl collectors. This edition highlighted the compositions and arrangements by well-known stalwarts of the time with vocals by the likes of Kartina Dahari, Rugayah Busrah, Jaafar Osman and Samad Haroun.
The album is sponsored by Eddie Vader (not his real name) from Singapore. Hopefully with his help and others like him, we will be able to enjoy more of these kind of rarities in MN in the near future.
