Nevertheless, an important album for 2006.

Just added a 1979 LP "Kenangan Ayah" by Filipino superstar Freddie Aguilar (birth name Ferdinand Pascual Aguilar and Muslim name Abdul Farid since 2013). This was after his "Anak" record exploded in 1978 and churned many versions in different countries and languages. Freddie himself re-recorded it in English, Italian and Malay (the latter came from this LP). Perhaps his only Malay album, it was recorded and produced in Singapore by Eric Yeo under the Philips label. The album was reissued on CD as "Anak" in 1997 with different cover and different song order. All 12 songs were basically Malay renditions of his 1976-1979 Tagalog hits with majority of lyrics by M. Nasir and two by S. Amin Shahab. M. Nasir was also tasked as vocal coach to Freddie but that didn't stop a Berita Harian reviewer from giving the album the thumbs-down based on Freddie's Malay pronunciations and also the fact that the album was all "terjemahan" ヅ
