Just added the third album by Sheqal from 1994. Simply entitled “Cahaya”, Sheqal and M. Nasir shared the producer credits. The album produced the “rentak ethnik” hit “Ratib Orang Lautan” written by Sheqal himself.

Just added a CD by Sheqal or real name Shahrin Salehuddin from 1991. “Pudar Yang Tersirat Pasrah” was his second studio album with producer Manan Ngah which offered more pop-oriented arrangements than his debut LP a year before. Featuring “Pasrah” and “Seloka Anak Cucu” as the main drivers. IMHO, “Silap Siapa” is the best track here with worlds written by Sheqal himself. Note: There was no LP release for this album.

Just added an LP by Sheqal or real name Shahrin Salehuddin from 1990. His music career was launched by producer Manan Ngah who wanted a change from his previous pop outputs (Fran, Sudirman, Dato’ Shake, etc). Although by all means not the first to introduce the Nusantara/Pop Traditional genre, this album proven to be a go-to for current research on the subject prompted by the album title "Balada Nusantara Menampilkan Sheqal". This LP version ignored two tracks made available on the cassette tape and CD releases namely the minus one and instrumental version of "Cinta Nusantara". However, they are included here as "bonus tracks" for your listening pleasure ヅ.
