Just added a 1989 album by WEA's Various Artists titled "Gema Hari Raya" produced by Ramli Sarip, J Jay, S. Atan & Nasser Abu Kassim. A Special Edition was packaged for the MLM lifestyle company Avon in cassette tapes and vinyls, distributed to its members and clients - This was retitled "Irama Hari Raya Avon" with a different cover and four additional tracks which were basically Avon's theme song and advertisements.

Just added a 1985 EP by Various Artists on one side and Sharifah Aini on the other. Side A of this promotional EP consisted of Hari Raya songs by Anuar & Ellina, Khairil Johari Johar, Sweet September and Cenderawasih. Side B consisted of two non-festive songs by Sharifah Aini later included in her double compilation LP "Dari Masa Hingga Masa" of the same year.

Just added an LP by Various Artists namely Syed Sobrie, Lina, Jatt Ali, Malek Ridzuan, Shareen, Aziz Ahmad & Point Blank highlighting their new Hari Raya songs of 1984 in this album titled "Salam Aidil Fitri". Apart from the title track by Jatt Ali, other soon-to-be Hari Raya staples were such as "Abang Pulang" by Malek Ridzuan plus his duet with Shareen, "Joget Kesyukuran". Also "Selamat Hari Raya" by Point Blank. Produced by Ruslan Imam and Razzi M.

Just added a 1963 EP by Julie Sudiro, Arthur Lee D.K.K. with The Megawati Orchestra conducted by Wandy Yazid, who was also the arranger and writer for songs in this EP. Sung in both Malay and English, the album was titled "Twist-Lah Lagi..!". Since it's not a duet album, it is filed under "Various Artists".

Just added a 1982 LP by Sharifah Aini, Zaleha Hamid, Herman Tino & Sudirman Hj. Arshad celebrating Malay traditional songs. "Album Melayu Deli Bersama...." which is the first of two-part series. The Volume 2 was released the next year in 1983. Produced and arranged by S. Atan. Filed under "Various Artists".

Just added an EP by Various Artists from a series of "Lagu2 Pop" (Pop Songs) produced and recorded by Radio Malaysia in the 60's and 70's. Mostly used for their internal radio spin, these series of EPs (and later on, LPs) are now highly sought after by vinyl collectors. This edition highlighted the compositions and arrangements by well-known stalwarts of the time with vocals by the likes of Kartina Dahari, Rugayah Busrah, Jaafar Osman and Samad Haroun.

The album is sponsored by Eddie Vader (not his real name) from Singapore. Hopefully with his help and others like him, we will be able to enjoy more of these kind of rarities in MN in the near future.

Just added a 1981 compilation LP by Various Artists titled "Bintang Polygram" - the line-up which consisted of Polygram's 1980's staple of Malay artists namely M. Nasir with the new (and rare "theme") song "Demi Kedamaian" (credited as "Nyanyian Ramai") as well "Masing-Masing" which made its first appearance on this LP. All the other songs were lifted from the individual artists' previously released LPs as far back as 1979 for Alleycats' "Penyanyi" from their LP of the same name. This is free to stream since half of the songs already made it on CDs. Enjoy!

Just added a 10-inch LP by Lena Abdullah & Laila Sani "Bintang Biru (Blue Stars)" produced by EMI Columbia under their Magic Notes label from the 1950's. All the hits are here: "Bersenda", "Penang Samba", "Tamasya Alam Pilu" (Lena); "Segenap Jantungku", "Menjelang Kasih", "Mata Keranjang" (Laila). Filed under "Various Artists" since this is not a duet LP.

Just added a selection of Ramadan inspired tunes - I called it "MN Ramadan Top 40" - Now.. many may not agree with the list or their individual "chart" positions but hey, it's a personal list (and also only featuring what's available to MN at the moment). You are welcome to contribute what you feel should be in the list (MN may already got it/them) but again, it's a personal thing but your suggestions will definitely be heard (literally) and considered ヅ

Just added two 10" LPs by various artists entitled "Langgam Singapura (Modern Songs of Singapore)" and "Aneka Singapura (Singapore Variety Show-Case)" both from 1956. Lot of gems in these two albums.. All of the songs were previously scattered in the old MN alphabetically under the artist names. This re-encoded better-quality versions were contributed by Khir Johari - now brought together under their original-released albums. ENJOY!
