Just added a 10-inch LP by P. Ramlee and Normadiah from 1961 produced by Parlophone entitled “7 Irama Ali Baba Bujang Lapok”. Composed and arranged by P. Ramlee and all lyrics by S. Sudarmaji. The song “Alangkah Indah Di Waktu Pagi” was adapted from a well-known Turkish Folk Song "Üsküdar'a Gider İken (Kâtibim)”. Although not indicated, this was the soundtrack album for the film “Ali Baba Bujang Lapok”, so it is also filed under Original Soundtrack (OST). Just added a 10-inch LP by Doli Tupaz And His Bintang Malaya Hawaiian Band from 1963 produced by Parlophone. This is the third instalment of the “Happy Music From Malaya” series by the band - The previous two were produced under the Columbia label. In the early 50’s, prior to becoming recording artist, the band performed live and was the resident band at West Point Garden Restaurant at Pasir Panjang, Singapore under the name “Hawaiian Rhythm Kings” patronised by the well-heeled Caucasians and locals to dine and dance. This is one of three EPs recorded and released in 1975 introducing the two young Hamzah siblings which a year prior, joined their three sisters, Mahani, Mahayon and Maznah to form the family band Quinary M (initially just "M'). The group recorded three LPs between 1979 to 1981 before Mazuin and Mazlan left for their own separate, solo projects. Click below to donate:   Just added an SP by Anwar Idris (also sometimes spelled as “Annuar Idris”), entitled “Patah Hati Tumbang Harapan”, this title song as well as “Mutiara Dari Pulau Pinang” were written by Saiful Bahri and recorded in 1967. M. Nasir & Yunizar Hussein did a duet of the title song for their LP “Dia Ibu Ku” in 1981. If I am not mistaken, the original singer was S. Effendy. The LP “Lagu Lagu Dari Filem Cinta Dan Lagu” was composed, arranged and conducted by Johari Salleh with Jamil Sulong taking the task as the lyricist. In the film, Hail Amir used his own vocals for the songs but Ahmad Jais was given the honour to record the studio versions on this LP.
